Steps

  1. Check which age applies to your child
Look at the age when your child first enrolled.
    Open this page
  2. Find a centre with Seva Kendra Locator
The official page lists it under Quick Links. We did not open the locator itself.
  3. Visit an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre with your child
The official page says update requests are placed with an operator at the centre.
  4. Have fingerprints, eye scan and photo taken
The operator takes your child's fingerprints, eye scan and face photo.
  5. Collect the acknowledgement receipt
It shows the Update Request Number (URN). Keep it safe.
  6. Follow your request using the URN
When you want to check on your request, have the URN with you.
  7. After the last step
The operator gives you the acknowledgement receipt, and the Update Request Number (URN) is printed on it.
Keep the URN handy so you can follow your request.

If something goes wrong

Not sure which age rule fits my child
Think about your child's age when they first enrolled. That decides whether the update is due at 5 or at 15.
Can I update my child's fingerprints, eye scan and face photo online?
The official page lists only address update for the online mode. For fingerprints, eye scan and face photo, it says to visit an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.
I lost my receipt with the URN
Call the Toll-free Number 1947 and ask for help.
Someone asks for my OTP
Never share your OTP (One-Time Password) or password with anyone who calls or messages you.
