Steps

  1. Open the National Scholarship Portal
Go to scholarships.gov.in in your browser.
    Open this page
  2. Click Apply For One Time Registration (OTR)
Under Students, click Apply For One Time Registration (OTR). This is what gives you your scholarship number.
  3. Find Lock/Unlock Aadhaar on myAdhaar web portal
NSP names the myAdhaar web portal for this check. It is a different site from NSP.
    Open this page
  4. Make sure Lock/Unlock Aadhaar shows Unlocked
When it is locked, Aadhaar blocks face and fingerprint checks. NSP says it must show Unlocked before the face scan.
  5. Install the NSP OTR APP
Get the NSP OTR APP from the Google Play Store.
    Open this page
  6. Scan your face in the NSP OTR APP
Use the app for a face scan that shows it is really you. Your scholarship number is made after this check.
  7. Disabled students: log in to the UDID portal
UDID is the number on your disability ID card. This step is only for disabled students.
    Open this page
  8. Agree to share your UDID details
After you log in to the UDID portal, agree to share your UDID details.
  9. After the last step
Use your scholarship number to apply for a scholarship on NSP.
Disabled students give consent on the UDID portal before they apply.
